Limited
edition of 1250 from Govier's, Sidmouth. It is the first paperweight
in a series of
Gypsy
Caravans. Being far more intricate than a normal
paperweight, the Ledge Wagon is cast in 3 separate pieces and has no
fewer than 29 lithographs applied.
The Ledge Wagon is sometimes called the 'Cottage Wagon'. It has a narrow base with upright sides and body that is built outwards on ledges. The matchboarding on the side walls is decorated with pieces of gilded carving. Windows are on either side and at the back. |
