edition of 1000 from Sinclairs. The Falabella is the fifth piece in
Sinclair's Equine
Studies Series.
The Falabella is descended from the Latin American Andalusian horse that the Spanish are said to have taken with them for the conquests. The horses were left behind when the conquests failed and, as the conditions were vastly different from those they were used to, the survivors changed biologically and structurally. This breed was discovered by the Falabella family in the mid-nineteenth century who selectively bred them to maintain a perfectly proportioned horse that resembles an Arab or thoroughbred but no taller than 34 inches (86.4cm). |
